Before choosing an Acura TL or Type-S Android screen, identify the vehicle generation and original navigation system. The Type-S badge should not be treated as a fitment label covering 2008–2012 vehicles.
Acura’s official 2009 TL information describes a new fourth-generation TL and states that the TL SH-AWD model replaced the preceding TL Type-S. A kit described with a combined TL/Type-S label therefore needs a dashboard and equipment check; the model names do not establish interchangeability.
Source: Acura 2009 TL overview. This source identifies the vehicle generation, not the fitment of an aftermarket kit.
Check the original dashboard photos for both listings and ask JMX Navigation to confirm the correct screen mount, harness and original-system integration. Do not order based only on an overlapping year range or the Type-S name.
TL / Type-S navigation product — confirm exact fitment
TL 2004–2008 navigation product
The linked TL / Type-S product listing specifies a 1980 × 720 IPS display; the separate TL 2004–2008 listing specifies a 1280 × 720 IPS display. Both currently offer RAM/storage configurations of 2GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. These specifications describe the individual listings and do not establish fitment across TL generations.
The linked products offer Android navigation and phone-connectivity features. Compare the selected hardware specification, wired or wireless phone connection, included accessories and retained original controls. Ask how the kit handles audio amplification, camera switching and settings accessed through the original screen.
No. Confirm the exact vehicle and installed equipment. A model-family label is not proof that one screen kit works across generations.
Photos help identify the physical layout, but electrical connections and factory functions also need confirmation. Provide navigation and audio-package details with the photos.
Send the exact model year, trim, sales market and clear photos of the complete dashboard and original screen. Identify the audio package, factory amplifier and camera system if fitted, plus any existing aftermarket equipment. Ask which wiring and adapters are included and which original functions are confirmed for your configuration.
Use a qualified installer. Before completing reassembly, test audio from original and Android sources, steering wheel buttons, phone calls and microphone quality, reverse-camera switching and access to original vehicle menus. Camera input support alone does not confirm direct compatibility with every factory camera.
Browse the upgrade guide index or contact JMX Navigation for a fitment check.
Before ordering, read our shipping policy for delivery details and our return and refund policy for eligibility, conditions and the return process. Review these conditions before installation.
These photos come from the corresponding product listings and show different dashboard layouts. Match the vehicle generation, original controls and trim before choosing a kit; the Type-S label alone does not establish fitment.
